Beijing Automobile Works or short BAW is the people's republic of automotive factories China headquarters in Beijing, BAW produces cars and light trucks off the road. BAW also manufactures specialized military vehicles, Beijing Automobile Works was founded in 1953 as The First Accessory Factory and renamed the Beijing Automobile Works in 1958, In 1987 the company merged with Beijing Automobile Motorcycle Company be and Motorcycle United Company, BAM.
The company now stands in 2001 and is a combination of several companies including Beijing Automobile Works, Beijing Jeep, Beijing Automobile Assembly and Foton.
